WHO IS JOINING THE JUDGING PANEL OF ‘IDOLS SA’

Idols SA officially announced the judges for season 18 which includes Thembi Seethe and JR Bogopa
Idols SA shocked fans when the competition announced that Unathi Nkayi and Randall Abrahams were not returning for season 18. This came after Somizi Mhlongo was put on “time off” because of the abuse allegations levelled against him. Now, the new judges for the upcoming season has been announced.
“We’re excited to have Idols SA return for an incredible 18th season. To have such longevity in such a fast-changing industry is no small feat. And we’re proud to keep giving our viewers what they love. One of the key components in having staying power is evolution, and our new-look panel is part of that,” said Executive Head of Programming: General Entertainment Nomsa Philiso.
“Idols SA is an important part of our creative industry. Not only do we unearth hidden talent, but we also nurture our contestants and equip them with the necessary tools to start or grow their careers. It’s a privilege to be able to do that for another season,” she continued.
Proverb is returning for his 13th season as host of the hit show. So, who are the judges of season 18?

‘IDOLS SA’ FAN FAVOURITE SOMIZI MHLONGO

THEMBI SEETE: ANOTHER ‘IDOLS SA’ FAN FAVOURITE
Thembi Seete is an acclaimed actor, dancer and musician who has been part of South Africa’s pop culture fabric since the 1990s.
She is known for her consistent reinvention and evolution as an artist. From her Boom Shaka youth to her hit solo career, she has since branched out into the small screen, and stars in the hugely popular Mzansi Magic telenovela Gomora as Gladys.
Seete is no stranger to the judge’s chair – she was a guest judge in Idols SA season 17, and was warmly received by fans, who loved her bubbly energy, constructive critique and useful nuggets of advice for the show’s performers

JR BOGOPA
Rounding off the judges’ table is hitmaker, techpreneur and rapper JR Bogopa. Since his Make the Circle Bigger days, the award-winning musician has branched out into various parts of the entertainment industry.
With a music publishing company, record company and music distribution app to his name, JR understands the business of entertainment as well as he does its creative side.
