Simon Cowell Involved In Bike Accident

Simon Cowell is “lucky to be alive” after surviving a second e-bike crash in 18 months.
The music mogul and talent show judge was rushed to hospital after he was flung off his motorized bike which was moving at 32km/h.
He was reportedly not wearing a helmet.
“He was pedalling along, with his electric motor on, when the wheels suddenly went from under him after hitting a wet patch,” source says.
“He slipped and went flying over the handlebars into the middle of the road.”
Simon (62) was admitted to hospital in London with a broken arm and a suspected concussion. He was discharged later in the day and spotted wearing a bright yellow cast on his arm.
This crash comes just 18 months after he broke his back in three places while riding a $20 000 (R300 000) motorised bike near his Malibu mansion in Los Angeles. The former X-Factor judge underwent a six-hour operation to have a metal rod inserted into his back to repair his spine.
After the life-threatening crash Simon reportedly wanted to sue Swind, the company that manufactures the high-powered two-wheeler, for damages up of up to $10 million (R152,7 million) but he appears not to have not followed through.
Simon, who recently proposed to Lauren Silverman, mom of his seven-year-old son, Eric, promised at the time to wear a helmet – but letting go of his beloved EB-01 bike was not on the cards.
“My most creative time is now when I cycle because I cycle even though it’s an e-bike. I’ve still got to pedal and I do about ten miles a day, even though I had an accident on one,” he said in an interview following the first crash.
“That expression ‘get back on your bike’ – with me, it was literal. I feel better than I did because I exercise so much more.”
Although the horrific accident nearly cost him his life, Simon said he had no regrets.
“Honestly, if I could rewind I would have gone through the whole thing again. Just because I feel better now. Yeah, even though it hurt like hell at the time.”
